I understand that it isn't magic or voodoo, but there is a hunger to communicate with spirits, have lucky charms, and cast spells, that is why Harry Potter is such a big seller. People can summon spirits, invite spirits into their body, have items like lucky charms that have healing and miracle-working properties, and can alter the world and work miracles with their words and blessings. It is completely biblical:
